This policy explains what [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] collects when you use FastMyPC, why, and for how long. It is short because we collect little.
What we collect
- Your email address, from Stripe Checkout when you buy. It is how we send your activation code, your sign-in links and any notice about your subscription.
- Your activation code and licence status — which subscription it belongs to, when the period ends, and whether it is active.
- A machine identifier for the computer your licence is activated on. This is a one-way hash computed on your PC. See below.
- A device name, such as DESKTOP-4F9K2 · Windows 11, shown on your account page so you can tell which computer holds the licence. You can change it.
- An activation history — which machine identifier held the licence, when it moved, and the IP address the request came from. We keep this to answer payment disputes and to enforce the transfer limit.
- Your Stripe customer ID, so your account page can show your invoices and let you update your card.
What we deliberately do not collect
- Nothing about the contents of your computer. Scan results, file names, file paths, folder sizes and registry entries stay on your PC. They are never uploaded, and the software has no endpoint to upload them to.
- No card details. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store a card number.
- No password. There is no password anywhere in this product. You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email.
- No analytics, advertising or tracking. This website runs no analytics script, no tag manager and no tracking pixel. The only cookie we set is the sign-in session on your account page, described below.
About the machine identifier
When you activate, the app computes a SHA-256 hash of two hardware values from your PC combined with a secret built into the application. Only that hash reaches us. It cannot be reversed into your hardware serial numbers, and because the secret is unique to FastMyPC, the same PC produces a different identifier for us than it would for any other software using the same technique.
We use it for one purpose: to know which single computer currently holds your licence, so that it works on that one and not on an unlimited number of others.
Cookies
One cookie, on your account page only: a signed session that lasts 30 minutes and is set when you click a sign-in link. It is HttpOnly, so no script can read it, and it exists solely to keep you signed in while you are on the page. There are no advertising or analytics cookies to consent to.
Who else sees your data
- Stripe — payment processing, invoices and card updates. Stripe is the controller of your payment data; see their privacy policy.
- Resend — delivers your activation code and sign-in emails.
- MongoDB Atlas and Vercel — database and hosting.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for marketing.
How long we keep it
Your account and licence records are kept while your subscription exists and for [RETENTION PERIOD] afterwards, so that we can handle disputes, refunds and accounting obligations. Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes and are deleted after use. Checkout records used to show your code on the success page expire after one hour.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Write to Support from the address on your account and we will act on it.
Deleting your data means your licence stops working, because the licence is the record. We will say so before doing it.
